14 Nov Weekly Update – Empathy, Resilience & Overcoming Adversity
Welcome back everyone,
Today I want to highlight some amazing work that Strategic’s Community Foundation have been a part of. They have sponsored Oly Newton’s tour across schools in Dorset this week. For a bit of background, Oly is an international mental health advocate, trainer, and motivational speaker who has turned his own experience with OCD, anxiety, and depression into a mission to help others who find it hard to cope. Personally, I find it really inspiring and am very grateful for people like Oly, who dedicate their time and effort to make sure young people feel supported and safe. As of writing this, he will be at his last location, giving speeches and getting kids involved in workshops to better understand themselves and issues they or their friends may face, just as he has done at 4 other schools.
It’s so important to be understanding and empathetic in the face of hardship. Whether it’s emotional, physical or financial, having a champion to help you through what’s getting you down can be such a boon.
